Mailing somethinbg over seas..........................…

Hi I need to send something to india ... but over there the mail system isnt know for doing So well .. so should i mail it tru DSL, FEDEX, UPS or the USPO .. orrr should i just wait till i see my family again to have them bring it back (which will be in a few months) ??
